Delivery Methods:
PiecesOfVermont.com (POVT) currently has 6 Retail Merchants
that drop-ship orders directly from various locations in Vermont. Because we have a number of
businesses using our system, it is understandable that preferred individual
delivery methods vary. Therefore, your order may be delivered via
FedEx,
UPS, or the
United States Postal Service (USPS),
depending on the products you ordered and the
Vermont Retail Merchant who is drop-shipping them to you. The delivery service
(FedEx, UPS, or USPS) chosen to deliver your order will be the most reliable for your
delivery ZONE/region, based on our shipping history.
Our shipping and handling charge is intended to compensate our merchants for the cost of
processing your order, handling and packaging the products you have purchased, and delivering
them to you and/or the recipients you designate as expeditiously as possible.
In addition, since we may be drop-shipping parts of your order from different locations
in Vermont, your order may arrive in more than one package and not all at the same time.
Rest assured though, unless we contact you, your complete order is on the way and will
arrive shortly.
Shipping Perishable Items:
During the summer months (May - Sept.) warmer temperatures require us to ship perishable items
to arrive in no more than 3 business days. This affects states west
and south of PA (ZONES 2 & 3 during CHECKOUT) for which we will use
UPS 3-Day Select or USPS Priority Mail for delivery.
During periods of exceptionally high heat (79+ degrees) orders containing perishable items are shipped using
food safe cold packs and/or thermal barrier wrapping and will only be shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays,
so that your package does not sit in a warehouse over the weekend. Unless indicated on the product page,
if additional shipping charges apply we will contact you before shipping the perishable items.
Any additional shipping charges that are not indicated on the product page will be determined
after we receive your order and re-billed to your credit card after your approval,
this way you only need pay precisely what is necessary in order to ensure safe delivery.
If necessary, please notify receivers of food gifts that perishable items are being sent to them and that they should
refrigerate upon arrival. Always REFRIGERATE perishable items as soon as they arrive. Even though food safe cold packs may be used,
don't be concerned that the food arrives at room temperature. Cold packs are meant to keep the food chilled during travel.
The use of cold packs does NOT mean the food you ordered will arrive cold or frozen. The use of dry ice would be needed to
ensure frozen delivery and is not necessary for the cheeses and meats sold on PIECES OF VERMONT®.
One other note - Cheese contains water! Therefore, it is always best to refrigerate upon arrival for a couple hours, prior to
cutting open, otherwise the cheese may be moist and less firm. Simply chill the cheese for a couple hours before enjoying.
We appreciate your understanding and firmly believe that the Vermont specialty foods you'll receive are well
worth any extra expense necessary to ensure safe delivery. We have selected what we believe are the best of Vermont,
and we are confident you'll be pleased.
Shipping Heavy Items:
Concerning heavy items, such as gallons of
Grade B maple syrup,
additional shipping charges may apply and will be noted on the particular product page.
APO/FPO Deliveries:
Yes, we do ship to APO and FPO addresses. Instructions are provided during CHECKOUT.
Our Returns Policy:
We want you to be happy with your PIECES OF VERMONT® purchase.
If that's not the case, we will work hard to make things right. Should you simply change your mind about
any purchase, please return it within 30 days, along with the order number and date of purchase for an exchange
or a full refund of your purchase price. Simply send us an Email
or give us a call (800-507-7721) so that we may provide you
with our Merchant's return address and shipping instructions. Your satisfaction
is important to us and we'll do everything we can to rectify any disappointing situation.
A word about shipping charges - We understand that times are tough and shipping costs, which are largely beyond our control, are of
concern. If you're looking for a great gift, at the most economical shipping price, we'd suggest our individually boxed,
chocolate dipped maple sugar candies. When you order 1 or 2, the shipping is only $5.25!
